Patch 7.1.0 | Posted: October 25, 2016
This pet is one of four falcosaur hatchlings.

The Snowfeather Hatchling can only be obtained when the Broken Isles World Quest "Snowfeather Swarm!" is active on the coast in Highmountain. If the World Quest for this specific falcosaur species is not active or is about to time-out, the NPCs necessary will not be visible.

The Matriarch of the species will spawn during the active World Quest. Defeating her will allow you to see an Orphaned Snowfeather in the questing area.

Interacting with this NPC will not yield any results unless you have the hatchling's favorite type of food. The pet's journal description hints at what type of consumable it prefers. This particular falcosaur enjoys Smoked Elderhorn.

After purchasing the food from a Broken Isles vendor, interacting with the orphaned hatchling will reveal a new dialogue option. Clicking this will add the pet directly to your Pet Journal.

Once added to your collection, this hatchling will have a lengthy quest chain for you. More information can be found on our Patch 7.1 PTR - Falcosaur Hatchling Preview!

This lil guy is amazing! Completing the quest chain nets you a nice mount, an amazing level 25 battler, and a ultimate battle stone.

In battle his abilities synergize well with each other, and those of other pets. The 2 round falcosaur swarm will leave your opponent with shattered defenses, and totally vulnerable to your next move, Predatory strike. Or swap pets for 1 round of double damage. For those hard hitters there's crouch to reduce damage during the swarm.

4 star rating easy.

I ran into a phasing issue when trying to get this pet.  I lost track of how many times I killed the matriarch and ran to the spot, then, the last time, I finally spotted it wandering around, but when I approached, it vanished.  I moved back closer to where the snowfeather mobs spawn, and it reappeared.  I was then able to get it.  I suspect that the previous times I had killed the matriarch, I must have moved too far past the spot to see it.

This pet goes straight into the journal when earned, so make sure you have room for him.  I foolishly interacted with the orphaned hatchling while I had 1000 pets in my journal; got quest credit but received no pet.  Had to submit a ticket and get a GM to award the pet to me.

Finally got this little guy...with so many people looking for him it was hard to kill/loot then run to the spot where he spawned trying to beat others there...

But, I got him and have all 4, theya re pretty powerful little guys.

Warning squawk will cause weather effects like the talent Scorched Earth to crit YOUR team as well.

However... the possitive side of this talent is that it is a teamwide effect, meaning anything you have in play is boosted with 75% crit chance.

I have found leveling up to be easy at my garrison.  Unfortunately the pets there will be going away today.  But with care they will level up while you battle low grade level 25s.  Just be sure you have 2 in the party that are maxed for backup.

Picked up some smoked elderhorn from an npc at Felbane Camp flightpath. After killing the matriarch, I ran around and finally found the orphaned hatchling at 32,28.  I had already finished the world quest so that is not a factor.  Good luck!

I really like these 4 hatchlings, and there unique quest chains

The Snowfeather Hatchling can found at 32,28 in Highmountain (which is the furthest away of all 4 hatchlings) after you kill the Matriarch, and you need to carry  Smoked Elderhorn

One trick that I did after starting the quest chain on my level 110 was to finishing leveling the pet to 25 on an alt char that wasn't max level yet for the free exp.

I had to kill the matriarch about 6 times to get the hatchling. I can confirm that you can have the quest finished, then come back later to kill her again and pick it up. That's what I had to do.

Interestingly enough, I still have all the stack of 5 food, after feeding it to capture it.

Not sure what the timer on the quests are - 24 hours or reset I am guessing, since both hatchlings I got today gave me 1 quest, then said they were too tired and fell over asleep.

32, 28 is correct. After killing the Matriach I spent quite a while running around looking for the little guy only to find him at those co-ords behind a bit of a hill. There were some others stating that they had to kill the Matriach more than once before the hatchling showed, so if you're having trouble, try going back and killing the Matriach again.

Snowfeather falcosaur hatchlings instinctively flee to nearby adults when threatened. The species is particularly fond of large prey.
