It doesnt damage your pets it is increasing the available health. so if you pet started at say 100 health, cast sunlight and it now can have 120 health. of course the numbers are not accurate just an explination only. so it is great on puddle terrors, cause you cast heal every round then sunlight and it increases their available health, swap it out to another one, and they heal every round to more than normal health

"...I was(...)dissapointed(...)his second ability "Sunlight" damages not only enemiemies(...)but my own pets as well..."
I don't know why it was downvoted, but I have spotted same thing - when casting Sunlight ALL pets (INCLUDING mine) are damaged ;(. It's a 1st pet with Sunlight ability I was using which is harming ALL pets on battleground, even themselves and its teammates. Can someone explain WHY ?! Thanks in advance...
This pet. Oh boy, this little guy is my new love. Two totally viable builds:
Claw/Breath + Deflection + Surge of Light
Claw/Breath + Sunlight + Solar Beam
The former synergizes beautifully with Darkness teams and the latter with Sunlight teams, which is my predominant use for this pet. Being a Dragonkin with Solar Beam is nothing to scoff at. It shines more in Pet Battle PvP than in PvE, but with the right kind of team play, it can change an entire battle in just a few turns.
@Vek Sunlight will allow you to Nuke with Solar Beam... and it is your pet that gets the stun(Recharge). Surge of light can stun 25%. 100% if you have darkness up. I would recommend running this pet with a Royal Peachick or Leftshark as they both can increase your teams speed and provide extra damage.
Don't have this myself, but an opponent in my battlegroup uses one. Surge of Light stun is quite powerful combined with the Dragonkin racial buff, ie you stun and next turn get 50% extra damage. Can be really annoying to take out, but as all dragonkins it is pretty slow so try and take advantage of that. My opponent uses it with Xu-Fu(who does really well in a sunligth environment) and then a Valk.
Not nearly as good as it used to be: Blizzard nerfed Deflection a long while ago.
Absolutely my fav in PvP battles. Alot of people use Dragonkin and Magic pets so using Breath attack on magic and having Surge of Light for dragonkin I think is a good balance...and I can't say enough about reflection. Most bring in high powered attacks and nothing better than the ability to give it right back to them.
@Foust The sunny day doesn't do damage to your pets, it just increases their max health. It doesn't heal them up to that max health level. I had the same reaction using my venus pet until I realized what was going on. Hope that helps.
I got this pet today. I absolutely love the pet detail, and the abilities are beautiful. However, when using him in battles I was quite disappointed to find out that his second ability "Sunlight" damages not only enemies as the tooltip states, but my own pets as well. Time to do some research and see why this happens while the tooltip seems to imply that this should not be the case.
In addition to the above listed animations, I find his animation after coming out of his tight circle spin, the most adorable...he shakes his head like he is dizzy :)
