Use: Right Click to summon and dismiss your reindeer. Requires a Snowball to summon.

This is one of four BoU Winter Veil pets that drops at random from the [Gaily Wrapped Present]. You must be level 20+ to loot this item. This item appears under the Winter Veil tree in Ironforge (alliance) or Orgrimmar (horde) on and after December 25th through January 1st, but the [Jingling Bell] can often be found at auction year-round.

As of Patch 4.3, the Winter Reindeer no longer requires a snowball to summon. It will also "dress down" during the off season. Its appearance will not be as festive until the Winter Veil holiday.

Surprised there's no Battle comments on this pet. I use a team of Rudolph, Dancer, and Prancer, with Rudolph and Prancer using Hoof, Tranquility, and Bleat, and Dancer using Hoof, Nature's Ward, and Bleat. With proper switching, the team is nigh unkillable (albeit, it can be slow to kill especially against humanoids). But it more than makes up for it with it's nigh un-killability as a Trio of pets, the only real counters to it being Darkness/Healing reduction and Beast attacks. Very solid pet

The reindeer has become one of my favorites when his festive gear is removed. He is a cute little deer to follow me around..almost as cute as a puppy!

ye shame he was cuter befor ( been trying to summoning the tiny sownman he melt lol and the little helpes run away =) so many the little guy here wil be all pertty again the 15th and ready for xmas :D

Just summoned him post 4.3 patch and he's significantly larger from what I remember, in addition to missing his festive gear and red nose. I like the larger size, but wish he got to keep his holiday look all year instead of just during Winter Veil.

In 4.3, when summoned outside of Winter Veil, the reindeer will be missing its tack, saddle, and festive saddlebag.

He may be common, but he's always been my favorite. I keep a decent supply of snowballs in my pack (Storm Peaks daily quest drop...hoping for the Polar Bear mount to drop one day) so I can summon him at any time. He always makes me smile. Sooo cute!

My best advice for a way to "farm" this pet, as well as the other Winter's Veil pets, is to level a whole bunch of alts to lv20+. This in itself shouldn't take long, and it guarantees more chances at actually getting the pets for free, and not having to pay for them.

Also, if you do buy them, try to do it when there's an abundance on the AH. Come July-August, these pets can fetch as much as 10k+, depending on your server.
