I love all the Darkmoon Pets. Although this guy doesn't have the power & strength of the others. He has some traits that are very good. He has supprised me more than once.

wow looted two of these during this week's faire.  Put one on the AH cause I needed the cash to learn expert flying, but I did put it at a very reasonable price

This pet has two abilities which are affected by your opponent's max health: Trample and Predatory Strike. Combine these with a pet that casts Sunlight, increasing all pet health by 50%, and you will do a lot more damage.

To clarify a bit, the Darkmoon Hatchling was glitched and then hot-fixed, so those of us that bought it right away got the uncommon quality, However this was as saif hot-fixed into rare quality, in other words keep your uncommon version since this is o it's way to be a curiosity because uncommon is no longer available. :-)

This pet has now been completely fix in both the first and the second version, so now there is only rares of this.

I've gotten two & both have been rares.  On the Auction House, I saw both a rare and an uncommon for sale.  Perhaps like the JC pets, the quality can vary?

Thanks, Fenriz, for clarifying that this was a glitch that Blizz has since fixed.

I really hope they change this into a rare. Seems silly that it's not since all of the other Darkmoon Faire pets are.

Was also disappointed that its not of rare quality

*update question* since this was hotfixed, I have 2 that I bought but are unlearned, will they still be uncommon? Seems ridiculous that ive wasted  270tokens and they will all be uncommon due to blizzards lack of foresight.

**update** Answer: If you purchased one prior to hotfix but had it in your bags UNLEARNED, do not fear it will come out rare. Ones already learned prior to hotfix STAY uncommon.

Likewise disapointed it is uncommon, still it is taller then my toon, not hard since she is a Gnome.  :)

Just bought this, was disappointed to find it was only uncommon quality unlike the other Darkmoon pets sold by the same vendor.

Most of Violet's numerous forest strider hatchlings are turned into Faire fare by Stamp Thunderhorn, though a few are raised as mounts or purchased by adventurers looking for a petite purple pet.
