There are currently 20 new pets on the PTR.

  • 12 Raiding With Leashes VI pets
  • 4 Children's Week pets
  • 3 Darkmoon Faire pets (pictured above)
  • 1 mysterious pet from an unknown source ("A Quest")

Check out 20 new 8.1.5 pets

Pets of Pandaria
The next Raiding With Leashes will include Mists of Pandaria raids.

Raiding with Leashes VI: Pets of Pandaria features 11 pet drops from Mogu'shan Vaults, Terrace of Endless Spring, and Heart of Fear raids. The PTR Pet Journal does not include additional details, such as which boss drops which pet yet, but it will likely be updated with this information in the near future.

Happiness
Completing the meta-achievement will reward Happiness (pictured right), an adorable (and very upbeat!) sha. This perky little pet is very likely a nod to @Shaofhappiness, a popular online personality during Mists of Pandaria.

The upcoming Raiding With Leashes installment does not include the later MoP raids, Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar. There are 10 pets that already drop from these two raids, but it's unknown if they will eventually be included in Raiding With Leashes, or if they'll remain as separate, standalone drops.

Darkmoon Faire, Children's Week, and More
As noted above, the Darkmoon Faire will include 3 new pets in Patch 8.1.5. These balloon companions will be purchasable for 90 faire tickets each. The pets cannot battle and cannot be caged or traded.

Children's Week will also be receiving an update à la Battle For Azeroth. 4 new pets were datamined, although it's still unclear which quest will reward them.

Last but not least, the Brawler's Guild will be making a return. So far there are no new pets included in the upcoming 'season', however Clock'em and Tylarr Gronnden will be available once again. Requirements for these two pets seem to be the same as previous seasons.

Will there be even more Pet Battle content in 8.1.5? We'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned — we'll have more updates and previews of upcoming 8.1.5 pet content!

Blizzard recently released an official preview and schedule for the upcoming raid, Battle of Dazar'alor. [source]

Battle of Dazar'alor Raid-Dropped Pets
There are 4 new battle pets (pictured below) that will come from this raid. Collectors will want to keep in mind the following pets and corresponding release dates.

4 new Battle of Dazar'alor Raid-Dropped Pets

Child of Pa'ku - drops from Conclave of the Chosen encounter

  • February 12 LFR wing 2

The majority of these pets are Bind on Pick Up but they can be caged. The Enchanted Tiki Mask enchanting recipe is BoP, however the pet it creates is Bind on Use.

It's unclear if the recipe and these pets, excluding Spawn of Krag'wa, will drop from all difficulties. We'll have to wait and see. May RNG be in your favor!

Patch 8.1.5 PTR: Updated RWL VI Pets & Feathers

January 31, 2019
A new build was released onto the PTR this week. It included updates to the upcoming Raiding With Leashes VI pets, plus a cute storyline that rewards the Feathers battle pet! [source]

Updated RWL VI Pets
The PTR Pet Journal was updated to include sources for the 11 Raiding with Leashes VI: Pets of Pandaria pets.

Comet
Here is a quick summary:

  • 5 pets come from Heart of Fear bosses
  • 4 pets drop off of Mogu'shan Vaults bosses
  • 2 pets come from Terrace of Endless Spring bosses

There are also reports that these pets are now dropping from raid bosses on the PTR.

Learn more about which bosses drop each RWL VI pet!

It's unknown if any of the RWL VI pets will require a specific raid difficulty for it to drop, similar to the Drudge Ghoul and Wicked Soul situation. Despite difficulty not being specified in the Pet Journal, the former pet drops only from Normal Lich King, while latter comes only from Heroic Lich King in Icecrown Citadel.

A New Mechanical 'Feathery' Friend
Feathers
In Patch 8.1.5 players will be able to complete a short quest chain that rewards a new mechanical parrot, Feathers! (pictured right)

Wowhead has a quest walk-through, which wraps up 2 character story arcs from the Before the Storm book. The Wowhead guide includes SPOILERS, so read at your own discretion.

There are a couple prerequisites for the quest chain that rewards Feathers. The quests require player level 120, and Kelsey Steelspark as a follower (recruited during the Alliance War Campaign). It's currently unknown where/how the Horde version starts.

Once collected, Feathers will need an upgrade battlestone, as its base quality is uncommon (green). It is Bind On Pick Up, however it's cageable. If you don't have a character at max level it might be possible to find this pet on the Auction House in 8.1.5.

There are currently 20 new pets coming soon. Which one are you looking forward to the most?
