Import Bug and Incorrect Collection Count

October 02, 2018
UPDATE: Blizzard believes they have fixed the API issue.

Please contact us if you are still experiencing errors when importing your collection to WarcraftPets.

Users have been reporting errors when trying to update their WarcraftPets collection.

After looking into this, we've found that there is currently an issue with the Blizzard API handler that is causing imports to time out and only register partial portions of collections. In some cases, it does not update at all. [source]

This seems to be mainly affecting the EU-region, however some US/NA players may also experience some errors or incorrect collection counts when re-importing to WarcraftPets.

Blizzard is aware of this issue and are investigating; hopefully it can be resolved in the near future.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Patch 8.1 PTR: New Pets & Achievements, Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon Update

October 05, 2018
This week's PTR build added new pets and achievements, and Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon updates. [source]

New Pets
Alarm-O-Dog
The PTR was updated with 6 new pets!

  • Alarm-O-Dog (pictured right) - Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon vendor
  • Leper Rat - Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon vendor
  • Mechanical Cockroach - Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon vendor
  • Mechantula - Engineering
  • Mini Spider Tank - Achievement reward
  • Wicker Wraith - Achievement reward

Check out all 8.1 pets

This brings the current total number of upcoming pets to 12! We'll have to wait and see if this is the final count, or if there will be even more waiting for us.

New Achievements
Mini Spider Tank
Patch 8.1 will add the new achievement, Pet Battle Challenge: Gnomeregan. Completing the Challenge version of the Pet Dungeon (cannot heal or revive pets while inside the scenario) will award the Mini Spider Tank! (pictured right)

The next set of "Family" achievements will also be available in Patch 8.1.

Similar to Legion's Family Familiar, the new achievement requires players to defeat 15 trainers on Kul Tiras or Zandalar with a full team of the same pet family. There is a total of 19 possible pet trainers in BFA, so you can pick and choose which encounters to use for this achievement.

Unlike Family Familiar at the beginning of Legion, the BFA pet trainers can be battled multiple times, even when the associated World Quest is not active. You won't have to wait for a specific trainer to pop up — complete this challenge at your own pace!

The meta-achievement, Family Battler, rewards a spooky looking pet, the Wicker Wraith.

Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon Updates
There were multiple updates to the upcoming Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon, including the opening of the scenario, ready for testing.

Shadowy Figure inside Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon
Max level players can begin their adventure into the Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon by speaking with Rachel Kurall Tizzy Gearjolt (Alliance, outside of Dana Pull's store) or Tanzil Radek Fuselock (Horde, inside Happy Haloaua's residence). Pick up the breadcrumb quest, Trouble in Gnomeregan, and you're ready to go!

It's likely there will be prerequisites for the newest Pet Dungeon. While we can't say with certainty at this time, possible requirements may include having completed the previous 2 Pet Dungeons (Wailing Caverns and Deadmines), and/or having a certain number of max level battle pets.

Once inside, players will need to complete 9 stages, with a total of 12 different Pet Battle encounters. Enemy pets include max level Mechanical, Elemental, Critter, and Undead pet types, ranging from rare quality to epic.

  • Stage 1: One epic Mechanical
  • Stage 2: 3 encounters with 3 rare Elementals and their teams
  • Stage 3: One encounter with 3 epic Elementals
  • Stage 4: N/A
  • Stage 5: 2 encounters with 1 Undead and 1 Critter, plus their teams
  • Stage 6: One epic Undead
  • Stage 7: 3 encounters with 3 rare Mechanicals
  • Stage 8: N/A
  • Stage 9: One epic Mechanical

Completing the Pet Dungeon will award an Ultimate Battle-Training Stone, plus the ability to teleport directly to Micro Zoox by speaking to Manapoof in Boralus or Dazar'alor. It also unlocks the weekly quest, Pet Battle Challenge: Gnomeregan, which is necessary to earn the achievement of the same name.

Micro Zoox's inventory
The dungeon's vendor, Micro Zoox, had his inventory updated to include 3 new pets, the Engineering schematic for the new pet Mechantula, plus the standard Supply Bag. All items cost Pristine Gizmos. This new currency is earned by completing the weekly challenge version of the Gnomeregan Pet Dungeon.

We can't wait for this content to come in Patch 8.1! The mystery of the "Shadowy Figure" found inside these Pet Dungeons goes on — will we ever discover these NPCs' identities?

Patch 8.1 PTR: 11 New Pets

October 18, 2018
This week's PTR build added baby raptors and Darkshore Warfront pets. [source]

Preview of New Pets
11 new pets (plus Feathers was renamed to Proper Parrot) were included in the recent PTR patch. This brings the current 8.1 battle pet count to 23!

7 new Battle for Darkshore Warfront pets

Here's a quick summary of what was added:

  • 7 pets from Battle for Darkshore Warfront pets (pictured above)
  • 4 raptor pets from "Pet Battle" (wild? see below)

Updated Smoochums appearance
Check out all 8.1 battle pets

Smoochums, although not a new pet to 8.1, is receiving an updated appearance (pictured right).

Our graphic artist is currently unavailable, so we hope this quick preview will suffice! Stay tuned for the release of 8.1 and new WarcraftPets pet profiles, complete with better quality images.

Raptor Hatchling Speculation
Where will we find these 4 new adorable bundles of teeth, claws, and feathers? It's unclear at the moment, but one possibility is that they could be from a feature similar to the falcosaur hatchling storyline. Keep in mind that this is unconfirmed and the following is purely speculation!

4 new raptor hatchlings

The raptor pets are currently flagged as "Pet Battle" which usually indicates that they are wild or they must be defeated in a Pet Battle to receive the pet. However, the only known NPC battle pets coming in 8.1 are in the Gnomeregan Pet Battle Dungeon. Are there hidden raptor NPCs out there, similar to the orphaned falcosaur hatchlings, waiting to be found?

These pets are currently cageable, except for the Baby Zandalari Raptor. This is uncharacteristic for wild, captured pets. Could this simply be an oversight, or could it indicate more?

It should be noted that additional ravasaurs will be coming in Patch 8.1, and there are a few that match the same colors as the pets. And last but not least, there's a Baby Zandalari Raptor NPC (same name as one of the new pets), however it is not a battle-able pet.

All of these tidbits paint an interesting picture so far, however it's far from complete. The PTR is a Work In Progress and things could change. It's fun to speculate but we'll have to wait and see how we'll obtain these pets. We can't wait to learn more!

Patch 8.1 PTR: 13 New Pets & Upcoming Dubloon Vendor

October 25, 2018
13 new pets were added in the recent PTR patch, plus a vendor that sells cosmetic items in exchange for Island Expedition dubloons. [source]

Even More Pets!
The number of new pets coming in Patch 8.1 just keeps on growing — there are 13 more, bringing the current total to 36 new pets!

This week's PTR build added pets from Island Expeditions, 2 of which can be purchased from a vendor for Seafarer's Dubloons. Read below for more information on this new vendor.

All pets listed here are from Island Expeditions unless stated otherwise.

Lord Woofington and Thunderscale Whelpling
  • Albino Duskwatcher
  • Baby Stonehide
  • Crimson Octopode
  • Firesting Buzzer
  • Leatherwing Screecher
  • Lord Woofington (pictured right, above)
  • Needleback Pup
  • Nightwreathed Watcher (Darkshore Warfront)
  • Rotting Ghoul
  • Scritches
  • Shadefeather Hatchling
  • Thunderscale Whelpling (pictured right, below)
  • Tonguelasher

Check out all 8.1 battle pets

On top of newly added pets, we now have more information about the previously discovered baby raptor pets. One will remain wild, another will be a drop from a rarespawn, and the final 2 will be purchasable by each faction for a new currency (possibly obtained during the Darkshore Warfront). We're a little disappointed there won't be a fun story attached to these cute carnivores, but we look forward to collecting them nonetheless!

New Dubloon Vendor
A new vendor for each faction can be found near the Island Expedition area on the PTR. Captain Klarisa for Alliance and Captain Zen'taga for Horde.

Alliance dubloon vendor
This vendor sells cosmetic and reputation items in exchange for Seafarer's Dubloons. Wowhead has additional details on what can be purchased with Island Expedition currency.

Lil' Bling riding Cranky Crab
Pet collectors will be interested in the Albino Duskwatcher (200 dubloons) and Crimson Octopode (100 dubloons), plus a new toy, Cranky Crab (200 dubloons) which allows your battle pets to mount up and ride a crab (example pictured right)!

It's unknown if all battle pets (existing and new) will appear on this vendor. At the moment, only the 2 pets noted above are for sale. Even so, it might be a good idea to save a few extra dubloons for Patch 8.1.
