Colar Says:

They did add new pet.  I found a floating eye ball near Kara a few hours after the server came up.  Likely they are not dependent on time of the day.

Haven't had any luck with my MC run and haven't tried looking, been busy watching my back in the new world PVP area.

About Colar:

Aogara of Emerald Dreams, US server. (was Colar of Detheroc)

Black tabby was my first pet ever, it dropped when I was doing quest in Alterac Mountains. Being new back then, I didn't know about non combat pets and only thought classes like Hunter had pets. Anyway I tried to sell it on horde AH, didn't sell for 5g so I kept it and it had become my favorite pet since then. A white kitty came along short time later when I found a bunch of them on goblin AH for around 20g each some months ago. I wonder what happened to that ally seller? Ærth I think was his name.

I have since collected several vendor pets but didn't get into rarer pets and allies only pets until much later as bank space and bag space were limited. Thanks to patch 3.0, I can go pet crazy without giving up anything else!

PS the black tabby closely resembles my real life pet cat "Boots" who lived to be 19 years 11 months old.
