Location says only a secondary pet, but it's definitely a primary. Did not see this pet until I quested further into Argus near the Xenedar.

Welp. It's March 20th PDT and I feel cheated. Probably has a random spawning pattern or something. I've been patient long enough! Where's my Guardling!?

Edit: putting on my "the Patient" title and sucking it up. After reading several nasty arguments on the wow forums I've decided we probably all deserve to wait another 2-3 months.

For the person who caught their's in the vale, it was probably an emperor salmon pool. Theory so far suggests that since emperor salmon pools also exist in the wilds/valley (where the tooltip for the pet says to search for these) that it will drop in these pools even though they aren't techically in the wilds/valley. Just trying to clarify things so people don't go fishing around the vale searching for the little guy thinking it can drop from any pool in the zone.

Judging by about 100 or so battles I've clicked so far, this pet is ONLY primary, NEVER secondary. I've found a few, definitely not as common as the snake/frog in the first stage, but the ones I HAVE found were in the swampy ring around Diremoor.

I was able to upgrade this from uncommon to rare with a humanoid battle-stone =)

This CAN be upgraded with a battlestone from uncommon to rare.

Was in Sholazar for approximately 20 minutes killing drakes, eggs, babies...all to no avail. Speculation: killing these mobs does NOT force a spawn. Guess I'll try back later =)

I DID find one in Desolace as a secondary in the green center part of the zone. Was an uncommon, but after checking at least another 30 pets, did not find another. VERY uncommon I'm guessing for those who are rare hunting.

EDIT: After giving up here, I just went to Hillsbrad and got a rare within about 20 minutes of searching. Best place BY FAR.

Definitely are not secondaries to beetles only. Found them as secondaries to every primary battle pet in Silithus, although they were slightly more uncommon than other pets perhaps.

Checked all over Hellscream US and no Snowy Owls. Wondering the same thing as poster below.

Same issue: does not add this pet thru armory import.
