Caught this after a little over 3 hours of grinding. Was farming the whelps in the Wetlands, right near where I farmed for the Crimson Whelping is a line of four whelpings on the top of a small hill that hte orcs sometimes come and capture. I farmed these as they have a fast respawn time. By the time I'd cleared the line the respawns had happend.
Okril'lon Hold is one of the best places to farm this pet. Thank you to Pickles and Ziaom for recomending this spot. Mine dropped after about 5 kills (super lucky I know!) but I tried farming a second one for the AH and I can confirm that the mobs respawn super fast (wasn't so lucky with my second one... oh darn ;D)
I love this little guy but levelling him up is a pain when you have a full whelping team. He's weak against critters so he tends to fall behind his Lil'Deathwing and Crimson Whelping companions. But he does have my favourite design of any of the CE edtions. Really glad I preordered it at the time. I'd reccomend ebay for those who are still searching, you might get lucky.
Got this today after about 2.5 hours of farming <3 A monk who was working on skinning kept casting the onyx ox (or whatever it is) that draws mobs in which made it very easy to farm through mobs. So happy to have this little guy and good luck to those still hunting!

Haven't played in months and felt the urge to resubscribe today. Glad I did as the bonus xp week allowed me to get six of my dragon whelps to 25 (Frosty, Netherwhelp, Lil' Deathwing, Crimson, Ebony, and Emerald). Planning on getting the rest of the team to max before the bonus runs out. Still looking for rares of Onyxia's Whelp and the Infinate Whelp. Now that my team is strong enough I'm going to start hunting for a rare Nexus whelp. A dragon hunters quest is never over!
