This pet and Elementium Geode have a great combo. I had to test it to see if it worked and it did. You start with Elementium Bolt, use your slot 1 ability, then Crystal Overload before the bolt hits and the bolt does double damage, 936. You still take the 156 self damage but I think it's a small price to pay to be able to deal that much damage AND get the stun (assuming the enemy doesn't dodge, dive, burrow, blind you, stun you, or switch your geode out.)
I combo this pet up with Terky and Ban-Fu. Terky casts Lucky Dance and then I switch to Trunks -> Moonlight -> Spam When Elleks Fly until Lucky Dance wears off. I tried to combine Trunks and Terky with an Ominous Flame with Nimbus and Foreboding Curse. Start with Nimbus - Foreboding Curse - Switch to Terky - Lucky Dance - Switch to Trunks - Moonlight - spam WEF. You start out with Trunks having a 120% hit chance on the ability and the 25% crit chance increase.
Living Sandling wreaks utter havoc on mechanical pets. The H/S breed of this pet is particularly good against Lil' Bling which is a very fast mechanical pet. The combination of Sand Bolt and Quicksand is devastating versus any kind of team that relies on speed, so it's actually proven itself useful against the dreaded S/S Fiendish Imps that don't open with Nether Gate.
This pet combos great with other strong pets that have the Acid Rain ability to buff his slot 1 ability. Blightbreath is a good choice because the addition of having Dreadful Breath to cleave the enemy team down.
