I just got an uncommon, B/B at about 7AM server time. I'd been circling for a trying all the tricks: killing infernals, kiling critters, battling pets that spawned in the area, but nothing seemed to work. 

Then, I flew south and found about 15 tainted cockroaches, tainted rats, and tainted moths close together, so I killed them all.

Next flyby, there was my minfernal in the small ruined columns! 

I also noticed that I had a lull in campers, so that may have helped.

Agree that Anubisath Idol sandstorm damage reduction appears to have been nerfed.  He was my go-to dude to level up my low level pets because with the sandstorm and humanoid heal he'd barely take any damage...  enough so I could do several battles before heals, anyway.  Now, he's going down fast. 

Also, it appears that the drop frequency of rares has gone way down.  Anyone else still collecting common pets and notice this? 

Pet tracker shows these all around Southern Barrens.  I just flew the whole thing, caught 2 poor cheetah cubs in the north, saw no Giraffe calves. 

On return south, saw a group of 3 full size Giraffes with a Calf pet following at (46,84), northwest of Bael Modan.  It was a poor, but I caught it anyway just in case.  On Kael/thas at about 8PM server time.
