I had been farming this guy for 3 days straight, over 21 hours and 2375 kills with my level 71 warlock. I was really starting to think that I would have to come back to this one later, but then I switched to my level 90 mage and 7 kills later it DROPPED!
Is there something in the algorithim that takes into account level? Well, I will leave that for the scholars to discuss, while I enjoy my firefly.
After about a week and a half and over 4000 kills still no Black Tabby Cat. While farming for him I ran across a sympathetic herb farmer, and he agreed to trade him to me for peddlefeet and a humanoid stone. I had an extra one anyway, so man what a relief.
The real drop rate must be .001. Its insane.
Got mine after about 3-4 hours of farming at 67,47 in Wetlands. Thanks for the coords posted in this forum. I was bidding on this little guy earlier for 1000g and got outbid, then it got relisted for 4000g, so I went out to see if I could get him myself.
After I got him, I was so excited I wanted to see how far my luck could run, so I started farming Emerald Whelpling and I boom, I got 2 in back to back kills! #Awesome
This is so crazy. I got mine on my 44th kill, circling the lake north of Dreamer's Rest....then I killed one more, just cause I was so excited to get it so fast and A SECOND ONE DROPPED. Best luck I've had ever, considering I got the Crimson Whelping earlier tonight.
After many days of camping on my regular server, I followed the advice of someone on here and created a DK on a low population PVP server. I had never even seen a spawn like most people here, but I did a circuit and started killing all the Fernals and also all rats. I was so eager I didnt even bother with getting a flying license, but I think that helped, being on the ground. My heart jumped out of my chest when one popped up right in front of me. Poor quality but since I never even seen one...
The Firefly is my latest addition. Very excited after a long few days looking for this little guy!
