I can't find this in the Blizz store anymore. Is it retired?
This pet is BIG! He's just a tad bit taller than a female goblin, to give you an idea.
I've had the second to last in the series of quests to get this in my log for almost six months now (since my main was lvl 30 something, lol) and finally decided to go back and try again and boy I am glad I did! This pet is super cute and also a great addition to your team, definitely worth the hassle of the quests.
It's nice that these are BoU but I accidentally learned a second one (had farmed it to sell it) and because they're not cageable, I can't get rid of the duplicate unless I release it. =/
Unless you can put out an impossible amount of ranged damage and heal yourself while kiting him around the island, chances are you won't be able to kill him by yourself in less than an hour. I'd recommend a group of 3-5 people with at least one healer. Have the most heavily armored DPS kite him if you don't have a tank. Also note that if you get too close to the rocks/shore, he WILL bug and evade you and you'll have to start all over so make sure to kite him at safe distance from shore!
I find it mildly amusing that they chose to finally release this pet during the winter months, right before my birthday.
In total, I saw about 6-10 of these on my two visits to Deadwind (both visits were during the late evening realm time). All were above ground all around the buildings and two were even on the *top* of the buildings. They are VERY visible, not very fast movers, and hard to miss even without having them marked on the minimap. When you go to battle them, they won't have any adds to fight you- just the eye itself.
Oh, and once you catch one, do try feeding it a Magical pet Biscuit. ^_^
Lo and behold, the pet drops on that last whelp. XD
I get the feeling this is related to the chain of murloc tadpole quests on the NW coastal area in Highmountain.
