Well the moving of abilities around so they are the same as other water pets is, irritating, to say the least.
I guess we will have to make a few changes and grow as pet trainers by rejigging the battle pets, I'm sure we will be fine, just an annoying change for no real reason.
This change make PWS less useful now, pretty much the same as other water pets with the same specs.
Who in their right mind would want 3 pets that are not able to battle? Do they come in different colors or someting? Non-Battle pets are all well and good I guess, but 3 of the same type? Pointless effort getting 2 or even 3.
Tradable but not cageable, so once you learn it, you can't then cage it later.
Cute as it might look, it is otherwise worthless, particularly for the effort to get, and that annoying chime means, for me at least, it has been summoned once and pretty much never again.
Has anyone found this as anything other than the primary (the pet that shows up when searching). I ask because the 'Location' tab says it is an added pet in battles. If it is not then it needs to be updated.
As it turns out I found one at 60.4 13.9 so add that to your search co-ords if you are looking. It was primary, as Gabriel27 said. Mine was P/S (Common), first up so luck was in favor this time.
2051 kills later I *finally* get this pet, H/P breed.
Got this in the mines, but also did my share of time at Okril'lon Hold as well.
Based on my experience, wait for a server restart, and try then, seems your best chance.
~260 total kills and around a dozen Elites, so quite a fast pet to collect compaired to so many others. As a comparison, I have over 2000 kills for Black Cat, Still Nada, and the respawn rates for mobs is a lot slower.
Now off to shower this muck off me.
Darkmoon Glowfly now comes in all Qualities. Just got my rare, after many battles.
The Crow is also capturable now.
Likewise disapointed it is uncommon, still it is taller then my toon, not hard since she is a Gnome. :)

47, 24, SW of the Northpass Tower, I also foun these as primaries and 2nds in the Plaguewood area.
3pm server here in sunny Medivh. Pretty much center of the main harpy area in Dry hills.
First Youngling I see, rare, cant complain. Now to level this pretty.
Found as 2nd to the Spirit crab on the small island off the west coast. If you are wanting to battle spirit crabs for a larva as the 2nd pet, it needs to be lv 5+, below that and it will be a solo fight of just the crab.
If you dont have Battle Pet Notifier mod I would recomend you get it. Among other thngs it tells you if a wild pet is an upgrade to what you have or if you dont have it yet at all.
Provides a reminder that can often help choose catch/kill
CRZs are a pain, I fly in and see 20 or so pets, some were the raptor. But as soon as I touch down and sync with the CRZ, they all disapeared.
CRZ should be opt in. Bah.

Can't confirm 'clearing' of other pets, as it was alreay there when I arrived. But, 1 Libram, lots of rats.
As a side note, just south of the crater is a small field where you can play a plants and zombies like quest line, get past the final in the series for a Singing Sunflower battle pet

Just above the northern point toxic airfield, among the monk tranees
Seems to spawn around / near toxic airfield, saw 6 total inside 15 min.
*might* share snow cub spawn, as a snow cub spawned where I caught the Fluxfire

Co-ords around 58,50 and 58,48 (sighted, not caught)
And of the 3 new 5.1 pets I have so far found my first Rare

No sandstorm present (as someone noted on Wowhead when they got their pet)

If you intend to use wild horses for this, be aware that as of patch 5.1 the spawnrate for the horses is 5+ min between respawns.
The average that I noted was around the 7 minute mark. Early days so others might get a more accurate timing, but in any case it is no longer instant respawn as it has been in the past.
Catbalu: 9000+ kills no cat. Not happy, not happy at all.

How I remember it:
It was an epic battle of will and wits, I enter Dry Hills and the search is on, looking skyward for signs of my quarry among the elder harpys, I travel here and I travel thare, I even travel there, still the young ones elude my eternal vigil, after days of searching i see a glimmer of the prized azure, I rush towards the patch of color, laying waste to all between me and my advasary. The battle was on, I engaged the frenzy of feathers, turn after turn after turn, we battles to our last breath. Then when all was almost lost, throw the trap - Capture rapture.
Reality:
Entered the Harpy area, saw one just there, 3 rounds battle and capture, left Dry hills.
