I read the comments here, and found the rug on top of the big round metal grate outside the Horde Inn, behind the Scourge Machine thingy.  Immediately caught 2 nice Uncommons.  Trained them and was impressed with their ability.  Thanks to all for the helpful comments!  I come here first for your comments to help me in my quest for pets.

Finally got one after 211 attempts in the Badlands at 28.77, 38.23, killing any little dragonlings i found along the way.   Got a blue one. Now for the crimson...
