The goren that spawn in your mine are not the same ones that spawn from mining the ore nodes in your mine. The regular ones that just hang around don't drop ore (they don't really drop anything), whereas the ones that spawn when you mine do. So I don't think it matters how well your guards protect the mine. But this is just based on the description here.

I tried to stay up one night reading they might spawn 01-06 AM server time, I waited until 01:30 server time but then I had to quit. Only saw one snail spawn that I killed. Last night there was one silkbead snail and one Shadow Sporebat up already at ~23:50 server time. The Sporebat was left of Khadgar's Tower, at the tent and took a couple of tries to get into battle. At ~06:00 server time in the morning there weren't any spawns. 

In the Howling Fjord, in Halgrind (check the 'Location' map) they spawn in 3 different spots around the little pond. They spawn in groups of ~4-6 and it doesn't take long for them to respawn once they've been cleared, maybe a minute or two. They can spawn as critters or battle pets so just wipe the critter group with aoe. Didn't take long to get a rare and it's at least level 19 when you capture it.

Razzashi Hatchling might not be the greatest in PvP or against PvE daily tamers, but it's absolutely fabulous when grinding XP for low level pets. It just slaughters critters (go to Valley of the Four Winds) when alternating Bite/Leap and Devour, without being too fragile despite being a P/P. It also helps surprisingly much that its move animations are also quick. So you almost never need to heal and you can use any pet to protect your leveling pet through swaps. Razz will handle the rest!

It's not 1/player. Just a matter of luck and the time it takes to get one is of course affected by how fast you can kill the dinomancers. I (tank) was farming bones with my friend (healer) and we can easily pull for example the entire ship and just aoe them down. And I have 3/3 of most of them, and my friend isn't missing them either, so doesn't matter how many you have or don't have. Happy farming!
