Those of you overseas who are seeing this, can you tell us if it is spawning continuously or only in rare times like the minfernal does?

Do the elites only spawn in one spot? I was killing the smaller ones on one side and another person was killing on the other side (grrr on cross realm crowds). The elites only seemed to come out for her and I realized I was killing only to her benefit so I left. I hope to find the pit to myself someday.
