I finally got this the other day, after at leask three thousand kills and 40 hours (spread over the course of two months of a few hours a day) grinding.
And let me tell you it was worth every second :)
This lil guy is awesome; DO NOT GIVE UP :D

I got mine on the very last kill of my first run ^^

Also, yeah, you can buy certain vanity pets... but you you get a kinda sense of achievement when you've farmed one xD
