Thanks for your excellent information. I got all four pets along the wharf using dungeon resets.
Rememeber when you do the resets the pets are not always going to be there. Don't go too close to the guards on the stairs. They are deadly.
This is painful. After working out so many battles, we have to start again. It is rather inconvenient and has a high boredom content. Alas, designers often confuse tedium with game difficulty.
Be warned.
For me, the most frustrating and most unpleasant moment I have ever had with WOW was to actually find one of these pets after months of searching and have it kill itself with Unholy Ascession. I am still looking for my second.
First go, I did 1.25 hours - no luck. I had a rest and got it on the first kill when I came back. During the grind, lots of greens dropped so it is not all worthless effort.
If you get caught with many Flawless Undead Battle-stones after your undead pets are all Rare. Purchase these skulls at Dalaran, convert them to Rare and sell them on AH. I sold six for 250 gold or there abouts. You may be able to get more.
Yes, he is rare. Quite cute.
I found one along Slicky Stream NNE of Grookin Hill.
I chose a Personal World Destroyer for my 100 pet. If I had been alert, I would have chosen the Singing Sunflower(99th), which was so cute back then - and from a fun series of quests. Well, a thousand on, 1100 was Wriggler.
