Ok if you roll a BE I can tell you how the system works. You do not have to kill all the cats adn wait for battle pet spawn. Clearing the cats does nothing regardless of what you do the respawn timer is about a minute give or take. Only one battle pet will spawn at a time. Their are cats inside the buildings, ignor them. They will never spawn a Battle pet, not even the one on the second floor on the outside of the balcony. Sit between the buildings and wait for th min map blip to pop up.

The best place to find these guys is in the Battlescar Valley, from Chared Vale to Thal'darah Overlook (house on map) and in the section of road leading to Sludgewerks. They can be a 2nd battle pet so battle anything on the way. Spawns arn't extreamly fast so from time to time go fly about the outside edge of the lumber yard by The Fold and the alliance mob area by Kromgar Fortress. Don't battle the spiders in Webwinder Hollow to get the get this as a 2nd, too long. 3hr, but with my info less.

I killed about 30 before a rare, lots of greens tho. I was lvling low pets so it took about an hour. These things were respawning faster then I could kill them, unlike yesterday, Wed, where I only found 5 or 6 near 2am server/realm time on steamwheedle. There is no one here so respawn isnt fast because its crowded. They were everywhere, it was crawling with them. A good 40 I didnt even clear the area fully before I got a rare. Started about 8:20 ended 9:16 pm Thurs real/server time-steamwheedel.

seems like the hard part is finding the mobs. southern tip i found 2 groups on eather side of the rift. 3 of these calves. i tamed the first and got an UNcommon i dont rember the stats. the second was a RARE 87 sword stat and a 104 arrow stat. I left the 3rd to be clamed by someone else. I hadnt seen any in the upper part of SB.

when looking for rarity indicators ur best bet is to check for the stats of the sword and golden arrow, they dont change much and are often as warcraft pets says but with a tiny amount of wiggle room. My rare topaz is sword 94 and gold arrow 83. Uncommon is sword 82 and arrow 72.

dont look at the health to detirmine rareity but instead look at the other 2 stats, the sword and the gold arrow. The health sugestion in battle tab here is off and after taming the health jumps. So always look at the non-health stats to determine rareity. That goes for all pets. lvl 8 uncommons can be 82 sword and 82 arrow, health 423 which jumps to 502 after tameing and also 85 sword 77 arrow, health 439 that jumps to 527 after taming. My rare was a lvl 7 81 sword and 76 arrow.Hope this helps.
