You can also do this in Dal or Shat on any race, IF your not sure where your home town is. Remember you will need to use the "use" on the flowers to see the quest giver. Seems a silly thing to remind people but I can't tell you how many people were asking in trade earlier so I thought it worth mentioning. Then again I just refer people to this sight. Everything one could ever want to know is always here! :) And @ Fontis12 times are always server for future events. :)

I got mine after a few more kills than that AND my hubby was nice enough to trade it to me because I lost the roll. :) We then farmed for another one for him, but our friend won it instead, so we tried to farm up a third one...which didn't drop. (in 2 hours) He will get his, but not soon enough after giving one away and losing the roll on a second one. :(

I found my rare as a seconday to a Fledgling Buzzard. I was in the zone about 30 mins just battling every pet. In that time I was able to get a rare of each pet, the Rat being the last I needed. Good luck to all. Also I noticed several people commenting that they killed theirs; try using a Terrible Turnip when farming low lvl pets. It's first move is unable to take a target below 1 health. :)

I was glad to see Jollyrogered's comment on the respawn timer of 15-20 mins. I was fortunate enough to get there when a group was already spawned, unfortunatley they were all poor quality. I waited an hour and no respawns. I wonder if different servers effect the timers?... This is the last pet in Outlands that I need to upgrade to rare, so whatever the spawn time happens to be I will update as I imagine others are in the same boat as me. UPDATE: 2 hours and no respawns. Finally! 2 1/2 hours...
