Battle For Azeroth
Patch 8.2.0 | Posted: June 25, 2019
Players must first pick up and complete the quest, A Curious Discovery on Nazjatar before starting the process to collect 'slimy pets'.

After completing this quest, players can find lootable Prismatic Crystals on the ground all over Nazjatar, usually near sources of water and waterfalls. These crystals can be used to charm a Nazjatar critter, which can then be "fed" to a Ravenous Slime. Feeding the slime causes it to feel full, fall asleep, and despawn. It will re-appear in the same spot the next day.

There are a total of 4 different Ravenous Slimes, each on its own timer. Slimes are also character-specific, so alt toons can feed their own set of slimes for additional chances at slimy pets.

After feeding a Ravenous Slime for 4-6 consecutive days, instead of despawning it will spawn a lootable cocoon. Any slime that becomes a cocoon will go on "cooldown" for the rest of the week, and re-appear upon weekly reset.

The cocoon can drop 1 of 7 possible 'slimy pets'.

Collecting one of these pets completes the achievement From The Belly Of The Jelly

While all three extreme breeds might look like a headache starter, I perceive the choice as illusionary. An H/H is still less sturdy than an H/P Slimy Darkhunter  with a humanoid racial to boot, and a P/P falls far behind the 363 record of the Eel/Octopode.

An S/S, though, is actually the fastest member of all the slimy gang (325).

A fully grown Fangtooth has a bite strong enough to go right through a platinum fishing pole. Watch your fingers.
