Post-BlizzCon 2014 Wrap Up

November 10, 2014

BlizzCon 2014 has ended, and we hope everyone enjoyed the celebration of all things Blizzard. We certainly did!

The Future of Pet Battles
There wasn't a lot of discussion on Pet Battles and pets in general during the convention this year. However, there was an inquiry about the future of Pet Battles during the WoW Q&A.

Developer Cory Stockton noted that they are happy with Pet Battle gameplay, and that they plan on adding depth by introducing more content such as additional NPC battles, new pets and more consumables. Their goal is to continue supporting Pet Battle gameplay in future expansions.

New Charity Pet Coming Soon!
Argi coming December 3
Blizzard revealed that a new pet will be arriving in the Battle.net Shop next month. Argi, the adorable "spacegoat" that was previously datamined during the WoD Beta, will make her debut December 3 and will cost $10 (US). [source]

It was also announced that between December 3 and December 31, 100% of the proceeds for every Argi adoption will be donated to the American Red Cross Ebola relief efforts.

Not only will this pet be a wonderful gift for a loved one this holiday season, it's heartwarming to know that collectors will be supporting the Red Cross and helping those in need. We look forward to welcoming Argi into our collections this winter.

WarcraftPets Meet-and-Greet
Meet-and-Greet group picture
We'd like to thank everyone that attended the BlizzCon 2014 WarcraftPets Meet-and-Greet. 55 WarcraftPets lanyards were handed out, and our good friend Steve from Wowtcgloot.com surprised everyone with common pet loot cards!

Murloc cookies
A big thank you to user Marzena who brought delicious homemade cookies once again to the WarcraftPets Meet-and-Greet (check out the "Crazy Cat Lady" cookies from 2013). This year the tasty treats were murloc-themed (pictured right). Whether as a pet or in cookie form, who could resist acquiring a little murloc!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by the Meet-and-Greet to say hello. We look forward to the next BlizzCon and WarcraftPets gathering! And of course, thank you to ALL of our users for your continued support.

Celebrating 10 Years of WoW With Two New Pets

November 21, 2014
WoW's 10th Anniversary - two new pets
We're celebrating WoW's 10th anniversary this year, and what an amazing decade it's been!

From vanity pets evolving into battle pets, to the ability to store all of our pets in the Pet Journal when they previously occupied inventory slots, there have been many changes over the years.

One thing has remained constant though — a wonderful community of passionate pet collectors and battlers, and Blizzard's continued support of our beloved gameplay. Oh and of course, the unending adoration for pets!

New Limited-Time Pets
There are two new fiery pets to accompany us as we celebrate WoW's anniversary — the Molten Corgi and Hatespark the Tiny. These pets will only be available for a limited time, from now through January 5, 2015.

All players that log into the game during the anniversary event will receive the adorable Molten Corgi. This tiny pup is perfect for your travels into the revamped anniversary edition of Molten Core. And you definitely don't want to miss out on this limited time raid.

Defeating Ragnaros the Firelord in the special level 100 LFR has a chance to reward the pet Hatespark the Tiny. It's unclear if players will continue receiving rewards while repeatedly defeating Ragnaros in the same lockout, but we can only hope that the Firelord is in a festive and generous mood!

UPDATE: The official WoW developer Twitter confirmed that there is no loot lockout for the anniversary edition of Molten Core.

A Heartfelt Thank You
We would like to thank all of the hardworking developers, community managers, and Blizzard employees for bringing us this awe inspiring game, and for supporting our passion of collecting adorable critters. The past 10 years have been full of exciting adventures. We can't wait to see all of the new pets just waiting for us over the horizon.

Last but not least, a big thank you to our users for helping shape a fun, friendly, and welcoming community. Your continued support is always greatly appreciated. We look forward to sharing updates on new pets with you in the future.
