I had checked for this on many occasions both inside and outside.  No luck.  Absolutely none.   One day recently I was passing through here and saw some.  They were outside.   The place was packed with them!   When they havent been farmed out, there are alot that spawn just outside in Tanaris.  :) 

I found some near Terrokar Refuge Island.   I passed maybe at least 10-12 of them.   I think it's just a timing thing.   

I was camping here trying to get the breed I wanted...hopefully in rare...

I thought I would pet down some notes here:

1) This is right near a Horde base.  Horde have easy time getting here, alliance take longer.  

2) They are only in and right near town on land.  Even if in total there are a decent number of spawn spots, it appears this gets farmed often.

and the reason for this:

3) Take your breed if you see it.

When I first saw this fellow, I knew I wanted to get one. 

This pet has one type, so all you have to do is get a good one (if you dont want to use a stone). 

That didnt help me much.  I had a bit of a hard time getting a rare to pop. 

What I did was show up 2-3 times and day sweeping the area.  If it was trash, I killed it.   I eventually found a rare one.  They dont pop much so when you see it, get it! 

I went into this knowing full well, this might be an Epic Camping Experience. 

What I did was instead of camping it, I did flyby's a few times while in the area.

All in all (for once), I think I got very lucky.  I did something like 3 sessions of flyby's, and saw him!  My eye's about popped out of my skull.  o.O

I had very bad luck on this pet.  For me, it took alot of trys to get a good P/P.  

I finally got one, and now I am Done!  :)
