Mercifully you can get this pet with in an hour or 2 with a shaman class trial.
Snowfang doesn't spawn in your O.H. until you complete your artifact weapon quest. Here's the trick: trial accounts get locked after the artifact quest so you only have 10 mins to do a couple quests and beat him.
Intro quests are super easy, did them and beat Snowfang with 6 minutes left.
Quests I did: artifact selection, clear debris, empower weapon, select starting zone (not turned in)
