thank you your info about ironforge was the best info ever! I got my rare in ironforge also. If you fly around a few minutes and killed the non rare and the non battle able pets and finally found a rare! worked perfect!

after MONTHS of flying by, camping for an hour here and there... I finally got bored waiting for a friend to get on and play wow with me. So I just decided to watch tv and camp in an area in the back near that huge red dude. After 2 movies and 3 tv shows (cough) 6 hours....ish ONE FINALLY SPAWNED!!! I got mine at 46, 40  and it was gray, I really dont care, I bought a stone and now he's blue. Just watch a few movies and camp! Kill all the rats!

I flew all over trying to find this guy. The best help I can give you is to look for peoples comments on where the pet is located with waypoints. I found him in silithus at

WAY 32,78

and got an uncommon. I dont care about rare right now someday I'll upgrade but uncommon for me right now is fine. 

Thank you so much Ladihawke73  I did exactaly what you said. I went to Sholazar Basin, near where you get your oricle egg. Right in the wildgrowth, the first biletoad I found was rare. WAY POINT 45, 52

after 2 hours of killing junk................................................. I was about to give up and go to bed and as I was saying good night to a guildie and moving my ipad to my bed I saw a pawprint...went down to inspect and it was the harpie!!!! lv 4 uncommon... they have a crazy bad respawn rate... <dies>

For starters Scalewing Shelf is SOUTH EAST of Death's Door. I caught mine at 69, 71 uncommon quality. It was the only one up! I only had to look for about 10 minutes.. There were a ton of them when I was flying in and abut 5 seconds after I landed they disapeared... stupid CRZ.... 

I just spent 45 minutes roaming the crater... I was killing rats like nobody's buisness, and all of a sudden I found one at 35, 35. I got an uncommon so I was all good to go, and as I was about to take off I told some one else that was camping there was one over at 34, 37. They told me they were to far away to come back for it so I clicked on it and it was gray. So if you are serious about this pet, kill rats and plan on camping out for an hour. Put net flix on and watch something as u camp

I was camping out next to the trainer, and saw a paw, flew up ontop of one of the pillers and there were 2 arcane eyes. One at 44, 77   and another at 43, 76 both were gray.

ok I have been camping this spot for WEEKS now.... I camped out here before a server restart and when I logged back on..nothing...

right now at 1:00am CRZ about 20 of these little guys popped up!!! If you fly over Sindragosa's fall you will see 10-20 little paw prints... 

the down side... MOST of them are gray and white. I tried to get as many friends to come nab one as I could, and they also had gray/white ones. At this point in the game I dont care as long as I get one.

I found mine in Shoazar Basin just under that big stump looking thing the Suntouched pillar.... at 32, 57

oookkkk for those of you who were having issues finding where to go... WAY POINT 41, 72 there is this little bog like area with the little water elemental type guys, as well as these little water wavelings! He's so cute next to my mage water elemental. =)

I just got mine at 11:03pm Sunday night. (daylight savings does apply somehow...) the festival started at 11... and we all got an achievement for being there for the start of it. My pet was lv 24, and uncommon. I swear it's the only one I saw, It spawned right infront of me so I quickly clicked on it and I didn't see anybody else get one. I hvaent seen another one spawn at all, and noboyd else claims to have seen one. I'm not sure if there's only one at a time or what.

only took me 2 days to find a rare one of these. I found it as an extra to a jungle grub. 

I have seen this pet as the first one you have to fly around to some islands and you'll see it. I haven't seen this pet in rare form however. I've killed many pets in  Krasarang wilds and there aren't many rares of anything. No jungle grub, no Luyu Moth, no Mei Li Sparkler.... where are the rares!

OMG I just spent 2 days looking for rares in this area and just now looked up the jungle grub and none of you can find rares! I wasted 2 days of my life for nothing!  =(   I also can't find rares of the Luyu moth, or Mei Li Sparkler.... I better go settle for an uncommon and move on with my life...

I found one uncommon one lv 23 in the jade forest at 51 77. It's kinda near a cliff with a stream by a bridge. I decided to catch it even though it's uncommon because people dont seem to be able to find them easily. I can always replace it with a rare if I ever see another.. haa

I caught mine after I flew around killing random spiders and frogs (the yellow non combat ones)...for some reason when you kill those, the little guy spawns after you kill so many of them.. usually 2 of them spawn at a time. It's 12:20am server time, and it is NOT raining. =)  I'm psycked because this is NOW my highest lv'ed pet..hahaa I caught it using a lv 16 crystal spider, 15 ash lizard, 17 de-weaponized mechanical companion...and only my mechanical pet was still alive...and just bairly

ok so I got to the stupid island 4 minutes before it stopped raining and there were NO apes!!!! This drives me insane I've camped here for 5 days... spent hours sitting here.. I went off to search for the shadling...and came back right as the rain was ending...and nothing... anyone have any rain dance tips...

You need to go to Tanaris, I got one as another pet that joined battle in Tanaris and didn't know they were "hard to find" and figured thre are seaguls everywhere! Ppppffff well I spent an hour hunting for another... Then I checked location 64,60 (it's pretty much on the shore line, like 3 feet from the water) and there was the seagul with a seagul buddy...Both were lv 13.
