After obtaining the emerald whelp today which took 24 hours of farming, it only took me 1 hour of grinding to get this Dark Whelp. The Dragonkin gods must be shining down on me for such a awesome drop rate.

I've been grinding these whelps since 3pm till now 1am. I'm going till 3 am, and if it doesn't drop I'm heading to bed and start again tomorrow. I feel as those I'm grinding the wrong mobs, but I know I'm not. I'm very determined to get this whelp for my mage.

Edit: It's 3am and still no drop of the emerald whelp. I shall try again when I wake up in the morning. I'll post the time when I start. This is by far the toughest pet I've had to farm yet.

Edit: After 24 hours of farming it dropped!!!

This pet will be awesome to have for Horde when we get the Scorpion mount from guild rep!!!! Mama/Daddy Scorp, and baby Scorp.

A friend of mine once surprised me with this lovely pet on my Alliance Mage before I turned horde in 08. So fairly recently I decided to farm him for myself on my Horde Mage. What a great pet! You can get him along the north side of Serpent Lake in Zanga.
