My pet acquisitions always seem to come in 2s or 3s. Finally got the Pterrordax Hatchling to pop up, solved it yesterday, then did my Molten Front dailies for the umpteenth time and was ecstatic to find a Searing Scorchling in my cache! Also got the last achievement I needed for my Flamebreaker title.

Tol'vir archaeology is sucking my will to live...

I picked Whiskers as my first Children's week pet because I used to have pet rats too. :) He has a lot of personality and is fun to have out. And as others have said, he's fun for annoying people in dungeons when they keep trying to kill him and get confused when they can't attack him, lol.

If you are Alliance, best place to farm critters is the Deep Run Tram station on the Ironforge side. The rats respawn instantly. Grab some guildies in group and get your achievement in no time. I use my Toxic Wasteling to eat the ones that spawn behind me. Just be considerate of players doing the quest to round up rats.

Something to note regarding this pet: unlike most of the vendor-sold pets, this one is bind-on-pickup. I bought an extra one to give to a guildie as a gift, only to discover when I went to mail it that it was soulbound and I had just wasted 40g. :(

But this is an awesome pet and a must-have if you missed out on the original one.
