There are 16 days of quests to complete this chain. Some days, it's just 1 quest, while other days, it's several. Each of the 5 whelplings rewards 2 pets after 4 days' worth of quests. You start the next whelpling's quests the same day that you complete the previous one.

Very common both as primary and secondary pet around Wingrest Embassy in The Waking Plains.

Found as the primary pet near Wingrest Embassy (77.3, 30.1) on The Waking Shores. He was near a magma waterfall, which makes sense for a "Magma Slug."

After waiting almost 3 hours for the boat to take me to Dragon Isles on launch day, I finally made it! Saw a green paw as soon as I got off the boat, & this pet was an added pet. I lucked out & got it in rare quality! :)

So far (about 1 hour of play time on The Waking Shores) I've only seen it as an added pet.

I just got one in Zereth Mortis, off a Mawsworn mob while doing the daily quest "Choose Your Fighter."

Found as a primary pet around 58, 81. It was hovering just above the water - based on the description, I'd wondered if it would be in the water or flying.

Found one as a primary pet at 47, 73.

I captured mine as a primary pet at 49, 75.

Found as the primary pet around The Dread Portal, 60, 29 & 66, 31. I captured one & left the other.

Easily found as a primary pet. I found several around the cliffs in the western and southwestern areas of the zone. This was the first pet that I found & captured in the new expansion, as it's found close to the starting area. (I play an Alliance character as my main, so Horde may start in a different spot.)

Found as the primary pet in several of the pools around the zone. I didn't write down the coordinates, but there are several ponds around the southern end of the zone with these little dudes. The ones I battled had non-aquatic secondary pets that I'd already seen a dozen times & captured in my exploring around the zone.

This rare can be soloed.

Choose 4 alts + your main. They need to be level 40+ & your main needs to be able to solo the rare. Any level 60 (current max) should work.

Log on to each alt, step on a rune and STAY THERE. Log out & repeat. You'll see flames, but no alts.

When your main steps onto the 5th rune, Orumu will activate instantly - kill him, & good luck! Took me 3 days/tries but I got the pet by myself. I left my alts parked there overnight to save time.

I hope this comes back soon!! My daughter's boyfriend is joining WoW & I'm missing out on a refer-a-friend pet. :'(
