The portal appears at the top of the hour at one of three locations, Valdrakken, the north end of the Stormwind docks, or just SE of Orgrimmar on Durotar. All of the portal locations, despite their proximity to cities, are in unguarded zones, so either faction can do any of them. My route is to check Valdrakken first, then take the portal to Stormwind, then portal to Mount Hyjal and fly south to Durotar. The drops seem to be assured only on the first kill of the day
Starting on Monday, March 11th there will be a new pet available from the Hearthstone Event, March 11 - March 18. It's a drop from the hourly Event Boss. It's a li'l mouse with a cape named Sarge.
He definitely IS in-game now in modern WoW. I purchased the Cataclysm Heroic Edition for $30, not even playing Classic WoW, and immediately got the pet and mount in Modern WoW.
I got him from a Plump Dream Bounty today, as listed. It may be an easier way of farming these pets than using a weekly resource and waiting until you get Rank 11.
This may be a rare placeholder pet battle. I ran across a non-catchable critter named Flooftalon as I was flying around, thought it was cute, and then moved on. I'm going to have to figure out where I saw it. It may be one of those mean ones where you have to kill the non-pet-battle versions until the catchable version appears.
I just received this as a reward for completing the Grand Hunt. It was in the Grand Hunt Spoils!
@Shyhelma Probably what happened with the Twitch drop of the kite pet. It will be an additional one you can get that's technically a separate pet, and can't be traded.
They saw the US Supersquirt schedule and realized that that wasn't working. My guess is that 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 Squirt days will automatically be "Supersquirt" days, both US and EU, and that it will be on the game calendar. Time will tell.
This is kind of a tacky way to for Blizzard to create artificial engagement in the days leading up to the release of Dragonflight. And while it might bump numbers by some temporary metric, it's unlikely to boost actual attention. Instead it merely annoys an already diehard fanbase (hardcore pet collectors).
I think Blizzard must have been in a real hurry with the professions this expansion. This cute lil' guy seems an obvious choice for an engineering pet. Instead alchemy is the sole source of craftable pets so far.

What if this was a mechanism by which certain pets could be used to obtain their mount equivalents? A rare circumstance in which your cute little pet could grow up into a mount. Of course you could choose not to let it grow and keep your cute little pet, but if you had two of them you could let one grow and have a fun mount.
You're never too old to enjoy gaming. I'm 40 and am an avid pet collector. My parents are in their 70s and love gaming too (Minecraft currently).
