I spent much more time on this pet than I could imagine. I made so many rounds of this zone, finally finging my rare in the southern mountains near the road to Redridge. I made good use of the time leveling up several of my pets.

I never saw this pet other than as a primary. 

I had seen one as primary in this area before. I was in the area and the sand was blowing, so I thought I would check it again. 51 80, primary, rare. Thank you.

I searched much of Eversong Woods, finally found a rare in the low level area, Sunstrider Isle. This may be why those creating new toons are then finding their rare.

An amazingly strong pet with a heal cycle. Easy to solo pets over his level. I will be up voting this guy.

OMG! It took me forever to get a rare. After a number of times around the outer two circles, I figured out which non-pets were placeholders for the pets. Try killing every single mob till you figure it out. As others mentioned, skip the Royal Quarters except for one thing: Place a bug report. Suggest they either fix the pets or remove them.

I just found my blue Rapana Whelk, can't believe how many battles I had to fight in Dread Wastes. It was a 24 H/B in the Chittering Coast. I was at the point of believing that they were only a myth. It was the secondary pet.
