I can't believe it.  I cast at least a few hundred times on my main with no luck.  I tried the underwater cave, all around the perimeter of the island, logging in and logging out; nothing worked.   A few minutes ago, I logged in with an alt and got the sea pony on my second cast.  It's uncommon balance.  I don't know if it will make a good battle pet, but it sure is cute!

Had an alt parked on the island for the past week.  I checked a few times a day.  Finally had luck today.  Got a rare on my 4th try, and the rain stopped while I was still in battle!

I bought him a couple of weeks back at AH for 900 gold.  The next cheapest one was listed at $1900.  He is by far, my best fighter.  He was beating level 20 pets when he was just level 11.  Very impressed with his look and his abilities.

Sandstorm just ended at 2:30am realm time on Ghostlands server.  It lasted at least two hours I am aware of.  I farmed for 30 minutes before I got my rare.  There were quite a few uncommon ones, with different powers.  I have one uncommon that is Power and Health.  The rare is a Guardian.  I also got one poor quality sandkitten.  I saw the sandstorm come to an end, and all the silithids despawned with it.  I should've posted earlier, sorry!

I checked Savage Thicket during day time hours a few times in the last week.  I didn't see a single one.  Had insomnia this morning (3am my time) so logged in and found a rare on my first try.  There were 5 or 6 milling about too. If you're having a hard time finding these pets, definitely check during off peak hours.

A couple of weeks ago I found a rare in Zul'Drak.  I underestimated my corehound's abilities.  He killed her.  I was heartbroken.  Today, I found an uncommon in Grizzly Hills NE of Dun Argol.  This time I was successful in capturing her.  I used a battlestone to make her rare.  Very happy!
